Lewis, I think you just took one more step toward getting there as a writer.
Contests can be fun, I guess, but the majority I see out there these days are only ego stroking contests. Nothing more. Time limitations are one thing if an agent is busting your ass; another if you're trying to do your best work to actually score an agent.
Regardless, I wish you luck on your writing and look forward to seeing your work.

Mike, you've got it so right. Time is at too much of premium to waste it on projects that, ultimately, divert you from what's important.
